German and Comparative Literature
I studied German Language and Literature, Linguistics, Indo-European Literature and teaching of German as a Second Language at the University of Münster, University of Kassel and at the Goethe Institute. I received my Ph.D. in 2006 at the University of Münster, my Certificate of teaching of German as a Second Language in 2003 at Goethe Institute/University of Kassel and my Master in 2000 at the University of Münster.
In my research and teaching, I am interested in German Literature from 17 to 19 century, Classicism and Romantisism, Novel and Poetry, Goethe's "West-Eastern Divan" and in contemporary German Literatur and Film with a focus on the Literature of Migrants. My research bases on Cultural Turns and includes Postcolonial Studies, Orientalism, Discourse Theory, Transculturality and Heterotopia.
I have a diverse and extensive background in the areas of German and Comparative Literature with a focus on humanities, art and social sciences as well as in teaching German literature and German as a Second Language in graduate and undergraduate levels.
